Hardwood Installation in Winder, GA
Hardwood installation 15 minutes from Winder. Large new-construction homes off 316. Historic downtown matches. Same crew, same standard, different techniques.
Winder's growth along the 316 corridor has brought a wave of new large-footprint homes — 2,500 to 4,500 square feet with generous main-level layouts that often call for hardwood throughout. One of the fastest-growing markets for new hardwood in NE Georgia, and we've been installing in those subdivisions since they broke ground.
Downtown Winder is the other half of our install work here. Historic homes needing partial installs — weaving new boards into original heart pine or oak — or total replacements where the existing floor is too damaged to save. Different work, different wood, same standard.

What We See in Winder Homes
Along 316 and in Barrow Crossing and the newer Winder subdivisions, we install 3/4" solid red oak or white oak for main-level living areas — usually 3 1/4" to 5" wide. Homeowners extending hardwood into dining, foyer, and hallways is common. For downtown Winder historic homes, we source wider heart pine or quarter-sawn oak for matching work, sometimes reclaimed, sometimes custom-milled. Crawl space is the dominant subfloor type in old Winder; slab is more common along 316.
Why Winder Homeowners Call Us
Large-home installs at efficient scale.
316 corridor homes run big. Open floor plans with hardwood flowing through dining, great room, kitchen. We install at that scale without the job stretching to three weeks.
Historic matching is real work.
We source period-appropriate heart pine and quarter-sawn oak for downtown Winder projects. Getting a century-old board to blend with new wood takes specific species and grade knowledge, not just "oak is oak."
Site-finished when it's worth it.
For premium builds, we install raw wood and sand, stain, and finish on-site. Flatter floor, unlimited stain options, uniform surface. $4–$6/sq ft more than prefinished and worth it on custom builds.
On-site when things change.
Because we're local, if something comes up during install — a subfloor surprise, a material question — we can get the right person on site in a few hours. Not "next Tuesday."

Hardwood Installation in Winder — FAQ
Usually. Original Winder heart pine is old-growth southern yellow pine, 1"+ thick, typically 4"–6" wide. We source reclaimed heart pine from dismantled structures or custom-mill to match dimensions. The match won't be perfect — no new wood ages identically to 100-year-old wood — but with careful installation the transition is visually seamless to most eyes.
Depends on the subfloor. Slab on grade (common in newer Winder subdivisions) requires engineered — solid can't nail to concrete. Over a wood subfloor or crawl space, solid works and gives you the 4–6 refinish lifespan. We check the plans or visit the site before recommending.
Yes — one of our most common install jobs in Winder. We match species, grade, and plank width so new boards blend with existing. After the extension, we typically refinish the entire connected area so stain and sheen match across old and new. The result is one continuous floor with no visible transition.
Yes. We've partnered with Barrow County builders on new-construction hardwood installs. We coordinate with the project manager, schedule around other trades, and install at the stage that fits the build timeline.
